Privacy Policy

DeviceTestHub is designed to work entirely in your browser. We do not operate servers that receive, store, or process your device data. There are no accounts, no cookies, and no analytics tracking.

DeviceTestHub does not collect personal information. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other identifying data.

We do not use cookies. We do not use analytics services such as Google Analytics. We do not use advertising trackers. We do not use pixel tags or beacons.

Each diagnostic test runs locally in your browser using standard web APIs. Here is what happens with each type of data the tests may access:

Camera and microphone

When you run a camera or microphone test, your browser will ask for permission to access the device. If you grant permission, the browser provides a live stream to the test page. DeviceTestHub does not record, store, or transmit this stream. The data exists only in your browser's memory during the test and is released when the test ends or the page closes.

Location (GPS)

When you run the GPS test, your browser will ask for permission to access your location. If you grant permission, the browser provides coordinates that are displayed on the test page and stored in your browser's sessionStorage. This data stays on your device and is automatically deleted when you close the tab.

Motion and orientation sensors

On some devices (particularly iOS), the browser will ask for permission before accessing motion sensors. DeviceTestHub reads sensor data to display during the test. This data is not stored beyond the current session.

Touch input

The touch test reads pointer events from your screen. This data is used to create a touch heatmap and is stored temporarily in sessionStorage to allow you to review results after the test ends.

Battery, network, and vibration

These tests read information that your browser makes available without requiring special permissions. Battery level, connection type, and vibration feedback do not leave your device.

DeviceTestHub uses two browser storage mechanisms, both of which stay entirely on your device:

sessionStorage

Used to store test session data so you can view results after completing a test. This data is automatically deleted when you close the browser tab.

localStorage

Used to store your test history (a list of completed tests) and your preference for dismissing the PWA install prompt. This data persists until you clear your browser data. Your test history is limited to the most recent 50 entries.

Your browser controls access to hardware features like the camera, microphone, and location. DeviceTestHub cannot bypass these permission prompts. If you deny a permission, the test will not proceed and no data will be accessed.

Granting a permission allows the browser to provide data to the test page. It does not mean DeviceTestHub receives, stores, or transmits that data. The data is processed in your browser and released when the test ends.

You can delete your data at any time by clearing your browser's site data for DeviceTestHub. This will remove all sessionStorage and localStorage entries. Closing the browser tab will delete sessionStorage data. Your test history in localStorage persists until cleared.

DeviceTestHub does not use any third-party services that collect data. There are no external analytics scripts, no advertising networks, and no social media trackers. The only external resources loaded are the Geist font files from Google Fonts, which are used for typography.

DeviceTestHub uses a service worker to enable offline access and improve loading performance. The service worker caches static assets (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and does not cache any test data, camera streams, microphone inputs, or location data.

DeviceTestHub does not knowingly collect data from children. The service is intended for general audiences. Since no personal data is collected, there is no age-related data collection taking place.

If this privacy policy is updated, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of DeviceTestHub after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
